BCLA president delivers first address

Byki Huntjens, the new president of the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA), delivered her presidential address on June 25 and spoke about the importance of storytelling, reflection and forward-thinking.

Huntjens said: ‘Leading the BCLA is a huge honour and I’m excited to have the chance to host this presidential address where I will discuss my own journey in contact lenses while encouraging others to shape their own.’

The lecture will be held virtually via Zoom, following the BCLA’s annual general meeting on the same evening. The session explored how advances in materials, modalities and patient expectations have shaped modern contact lens development and the way eye care professionals teach, learn and connect.
