BCLA to host Medics day

Conferences

The British Contact Lens Association is hosting a special Training Day for Medics at its Clinical Conference and Exhibition in Manchester.

The course will be held on the Friday morning of the conference (May 27) and will feature three ophthalmologists experienced in contact lens teaching, promoting the latest developments in medical contact lens practice. As well as lectures, a hands-on workshop will give delegates the chance to handle contact lenses and learn which lens types to use, when and for whom.

There will be presentations on 'A mini guide to contact lenses' and 'How to fit the irregular cornea'. Andrena McElvanney, consultant at Epsom and St Helier University NHS Trust and past president of the Medical Contact Lens and Ocular Surface Association, will discuss 'Therapeutic contact lenses'. 'The use of coloured contact lenses in medical cases' will conclude the morning session.
