After two regional tournaments the 44 finalists of Signet Armorlite's Golf Tournament recently met at the Belfry's Brabazon course for the deciding round.
The winning team, decided on countback, comprised Stephen Selbie of Selbie Opticians, Huddersfield, Phillip Garbe of Specsavers, Rotherham, Tony Kilna of Optical Direct, Glasgow, and Gordon Bethwaite of Signet Armorlite Europe, Gloucester. After an evening's entertainment by comedian Tom O'Connor, the guests contributed &\#163;850 for the charity Cancer and Leukaemia in Children (CLIC), a figure that was matched by a donation from Signet Armorlite Europe. The company's managing director Mark Dingley said that the successful regional play-off format would be expanded to allow more golfers to attend next year's event.
