Biofinity lens spurs CooperVision growth

CooperVision's first-quarter revenue increases by 8 per cent, driven by silicone hydrogel contact lenses

First-quCoopervision-biofinity BOX_NEWarter revenue for the Cooper Companies was up 7 per cent year-over-year to $405m, up 11 per cent in constant currency and excluding the divestiture of the Aime contact lens business in Japan.

CooperVision revenue rose 8 per cent to $326.3m, up 14 per cent in constant currency and excluding the divestiture of Aime. Commenting on the results, Robert S Weiss, Cooper’s president and chief executive officer said: ‘We are very pleased to report a strong first quarter. CooperVision continued to gain share in all geographies and modalities, with silicone hydrogel products showing especially strong growth led by Biofinity.’
