Ocular Sciences has extended the Biomedics Toric range with the addition of a fourth cylinder, -2.25.
The lens has four design features that comprise: smooth surface; optimised edge design; wide ballast band and constant horizontal thickness, for comfort and stable vision. The company added that in a clinical study, over 80 per cent of current monthly toric wearers chose to switch to the Biomedics Toric lens when they had tried it. Ocular Sciences added that practitioners had reported finding the stability of the lens a real benefit, making it more predictable to fit than other lenses. 'This feature can also be seen with the -2.25 cylinder where clinical studies have shown over 94 per cent of lenses to stabilise within 10 degrees compared to 76 per cent for other leading toric designs,' said the company.
