Toric optimisation

Coopervision has introduced a new design feature Optimised Toric Lens Geometry (OTLG), which the company said would allow multifaceted toric lenses to provide predictable, consistent visual acuity, lens stability, fit and comfort in both standard and extended range prescriptions.

The Avaira Vitality, Biofinity and Myday toric lenses are among the first products to feature OTLG, which was also said to reduce lens rotation and offer up to three times faster mean rotational recovery when compared to other toric lens designs.

The company said the practitioner benefits of the new optimised geometry included reduced chair time and increased confidence when fitting astigmatic patients.
