Topcon has revealed the speaker line up for its first National OCT conference scheduled for November, including the appearance of a bionic eye expert.

Retinal specialist and vitreoretinal surgeon Professor Paulo Stanga of Manchester Royal Eye Hospital, who made headlines as the first surgeon in the world to implant an AMD patient with a bionic eye implant, was confirmed as the keynote speaker.

Professor Stanga was also credited by Topcon as being the first ophthalmologist to introduce OCT into clinical practice in 1998.
