Black & Lizars has teamed up with Nikon to become the first optical group in Scotland to offer a family of customised varifocals in all 25 outlets.
The group will offer Nikon’s SeeMax free-form technology with production techniques which allow varifocal lenses to be individually designed to the prescription, face and eye measurements and the spectacle frame.
Peter Irvins, chief executive of Black & Lizars, said: ‘We are so impressed with this new technology and the performance of these varifocals that we are prepared to offer a cast iron, no quibble money back guarantee.’
As reported in Optician (News, April 11), the Scottish group was recently acquired by a European investment consortium for a sum believed to be around £20m. It is planning to expand its network throughout the UK.
