The charity, formerly known as St Dunstan’s, cares for vision impaired ex-service men and women and celebrated its centenary during 2015. Its programme for the evening consisted of carol favourites, including Once in Royal David’s City and We Three Kings, interspersed with recitations from Bernard Cribbins, Kate Adie and Nigel Anthony.

Victoria Marshall, events officer at Blind Veterans, said that the charity was ‘thrilled’ to have raised more than £22,000 from the event – with contributions still coming in at time of press.
