A warning has been issued over the sale of counterfeit wine and vodka bottles that could cause drinkers to go blind.
According the The Independent, UK Border Force managed to seize 33,000 counterfeit bottles of vodka coming from Latvia, while deliberately misspelt wine bottle labels were also causing confusion at as many as one-in-five off-licenses.
The newspaper noted that drinking illegal alcohol ‘can cause nausea, dizziness, blindness and even coma’.
