Eyewear brand Revo and U2 lead singer Bono have announced a new partnership to help prevent vision impairment and blindness.
The initiative, called ‘Buy Vision, Give Sight’, was expected to drive $10 million towards improving access to eye screening, prescription glasses and eye health care in under-resourced communities around the world, a statement said.
When a patient purchases a new pair of Revo sunglasses, $10 from the sale of every pair will be donated by the eyewear firm. To execute the campaign, Revo and Bono were partnering with the non-profit organisation Brien Holden Vision Institute.
