The practice is supporting the Revo Sunglasses ‘Buy Vision Give Sight’ campaign, which sees just under £7 from the sale of every pair donated to help eradicate preventable blindness in under-developed countries.

The campaign has been launched by Bono in partnership with Revo and the Brien Holden Vision Institute.

Jonson, who has been a lifetime U2 fan, said: ‘Once again Bono has proved what an amazing character he is championing this often overlooked cause.’

Suzanne Lynch, store manager at Bird Opticians, added: ‘We are hugely excited to be stocking the Revo brand from our great supplier Menrad. Not only are the frames and lenses of market leading quality but also we are helping fund a tremendous charitable effort.’
