Bausch+Lomb has launched PureVision 2 with High Definition Optics contact lenses, the latest development in its portfolio of lenses in the UK.
The new monthly lenses are designed to reduce glare and haloes while delivering excellent vision and helping to overcome spherical aberration, for example. The company said that the result was a lens that provided crisp, clear, vision even in low light conditions, combined with comfort and breathability.
B+L added that the new lens reduced spherical aberration across the entire power range, was packed in a solution for comfort on insertion and was one of the thinnest lenses available and easy to handle.
Cheryl Donnelly, director, medical affairs B+L Vision Care, said: 'The initial response from eye care professionals to PureVision 2 with High Definition Optics was overwhelmingly positive based on patient reports of great vision and comfort.'
She added that studies had provided positive consumer feedback, with 84 per cent rating the lens comfortable on insertion, 75 per cent agreeing they delivered superior vision and 77 per cent agreeing that haloes and glare were reduced, even in low light.
In a survey commissioned by B+L, of contact lens wearers experiencing glare or haloes, 90 per cent reported that they were interested in a solution that reduced glare and 89 per cent were interested in a solution to reduce haloes.
