Bradford College has officially opened its newly renovated Garden Mills building, with guests from education, construction, regional employers and staff and students.
Bradford College CEO & principal, Chris Webb, cut the ceremonial opening ribbon, following speeches and a guest tour of the educational facilities, which included an ophthalmic dispensing suite, a prep room and a clinical suite.
The £6.9m renovation transformed the once-derelict mill on Thornton Road into a training facility for higher-level digital, science and allied health courses.
Bradford College director of people services, Sarah Cooper, addressed the attendees, which included digital and ophthalmic industry employers and said: ‘We’re delighted that Garden Mills is now ready for staff and students.
‘It is an essential part of our estates strategy and perfectly demonstrates our ambition of opening up pioneering student careers that support regional growth.’
