British manufacturers gather to celebrate life of John Wiseman

Some of British manufacturing optics’ ‘big guns’ gathered to celebrate the life of John Wiseman at London’s Honourable Artillery Company this month.

Wiseman’s exploits in World War Two have been compared to a Boy’s Own Annual adventure, and was awarded both the military cross and French Croix de Guerre.

He was instrumental in making his optical manufacturing family business one of the largest in the UK. He died in August last year.’
