The final two shortlists for this year's optician Awards have been announced.
For the Contribution to CET Award sponsored by Dollond & Aitchison, four articles were shortlisted by the judges. They are: Wettability by Dr Karen French; Ocular Therapeutics Part 11 by Titcomb and Gilmartin; The Decay of Dk by Morgan and Brennan; and Ocular Therapeutics Part 8 by Missotten and Lightman.
This award will be presented to the author of the article that our judges felt was of the most use to readers during the year.
The second category is the Outstanding Optometrist of the Year. This category is designed to reward an optometrist who has demonstrated the highest levels of optometric practice and customer care during the year.
The practitioners shortlisted are: Hedley Lacey, The Lacey Practice; Peter Frampton, S Aaron Opticians; Frederick McShaw, McShaw Visiting Opticians; and Deborah Hart of Classic Eyes.
The winners of all 10 optician Awards ... the other shortlists were published last week ... will be announced at a black tie dinner at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on the Saturday evening (April 16) of the Optrafair weekend. Our host for the Awards and an evening of eating, entertainment and dancing is TV impressionist Alistair McGowan. To book your seat at the event email nicky.allison@rbi.co.uk or call 0208 652 8026.
