Fight for Sight has become the adopted charity of the Guildford, Surrey-based eyewear company, Marchon UK.
Marchon UK is no stranger to Fight for Sight, having presented the charity's royal patron, HRH the Duke of York, with a &\#163;7,000 cheque last year. The company's managing director, Andy Skitmore, made a further donation of &\#163;500 during a fundraising event earlier this month in the Buckinghamshire garden of the charity's president, Lord Carrington. The latest donation came about when the company decided to match the winner's prize money from a recent window competition for its Flexon brand. Marchon UK will be offering financial support for the charity's research into the prevention of blindness and treatment of eye disease. Earlier this year the charity received a &\#163;1.2m legacy from a glaucoma sufferer.
