Californian frame manufacturer Chrome Hearts has released its spring/summer 2011 collection, all of which feature its trademark heavy detailing and use of precious materials such as ebony, mahogany and sterling silver.
Like all its frames, the new collection will only be distributed through independent retailers and its London store.
Of the 14 new frames, eight are sunglasses which include the Muncher unisex aviator model. With temples covered in leather, the frames also feature a motif in silver near the temple hinge and intricate silver temple tips.
Another aviator, Grand Beast, features a cross motif on its hinge which features on the knees of Chrome Hearts leather trousers.
'All the motifs on the frames are motifs from the brand that we find in other Chrome Hearts products,' said the company's international marketing coordinator Coralie Sançois.
The collection, which uses silver in all the pieces, also features an oversized cat's eye frame. Many of the styles are quite classic in design, made individual by the finishing. Sançois explained that what distinguished Chrome Hearts frames was the high level of detailing on the front and temples. 'It's luxury, but rock and roll,' she said, an opinion supported by some of the brand's celebrity wearers who include French rock musician Johnny Hallyday and fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.
