A campaign is being conducted by the British Contact Lens Association and the General Optical Council to warn Britain's 3.5million contact lens wearers not to endanger their eye health and comfort during the recession through risky contact lens practices.

A campaign is being conducted by the British Contact Lens Association and the General Optical Council to warn Britain's 3.5million contact lens wearers not to endanger their eye health and comfort during the recession through risky contact lens practices.

The campaignfollows a YouGov poll of contact lens wearers aged 18+ that revealed thatnearly one in four contact lens wearers would consider switching their contact lens brand to save money and more than one in 10wearers would consider having less frequent check-ups. Findings also show that one in five respondents would consider wearing theircontact lenses for longer than recommended, such as using monthly lenses for more than a month, to cut costs.
