Although she lives in Milton Keynes, O'Donnell was selected to represent Ireland at the Junior European Championships in Bulgaria this month. The family, including her father Gerry, who is CLPL's financial director, has 'strong Irish roots'.
She will compete in the tumbling discipline, which involves performing a series of flicks, twists and somersaults along a sprung track.
CLPL has supported her with a £1,000 cash grant which, via Milton Keynes Gymnastics Limited, has contributed to training and travel costs. Ruth is currently trained by Russian coach Vladimir Podobin.
CLPL's managing director J Keith Lomas said: 'We are delighted to be able to offer this support to a promising young gymnast who has personal links with our recently-acquired subsidiary of UltraVision International in Leighton Buzzard.
'Everyone in the company will be following her progress and we all hope that Ruth will be at the beginning of a long and glittering international career.'
