At the preceding council meeting he congratulated outgoing president Gwyneth Morgan, and mentioned some of the College's immediate aims. 'There are many challenges facing the College at this time, but I am convinced that with the combined talents of the current council and a strong secretariat we can face the future with confidence,' he said. 'We have a comprehensive business plan for the coming years outlining our priorities. In my view the key to the successful implementation of these plans is encapsulated in two words: communication and dialogue.' He said the College must communicate successfully, in particular to its membership at local levels, and all those it dealt with. 'This will be a very high priority for me in the coming year,' he said.
