Independent chain Conlons Opticians has sent cakes to each of its practices to mark 130 years in business.
They were made by North West bakery Pipedreams Cake Design, with individual fairy cakes for each member of staff too. Conlons has also held a number of charity events to raise money for North West Cancer including a competition to search for the oldest pair of glasses in the North West.
Conlons branch manager for Barrow, Ian Hechle, said: 'It was a lovely surprise to receive the delicious cup cakes all specially decorated with our names and we all enjoyed eating them and celebrating that Conlons is 130 years old. We have various celebrations planned throughout the year such as a sponsored cycle and hill climb to help raise money for North West Cancer research.'
