CooperVision buys rights to Chrome-X

Chrome-X, the Hampshire-based cosmetic contact lens company, has sold the distribution rights to its range of cosmetic lenses to CooperVision.

It is expected that the deal will provide practitioners who stock the range with greater support and marketing presence. Nick Coleman, managing director of Chrome-X, said he was happy with the deal: 'While it was a difficult decision for me to make, it does make sound economic sense for our cosmetic lens range to be represented now by one of the world's leading contact lens companies. 'With the support CooperVision can bring I believe our customers will be the happier for this.' He added that CooperVision would provide a high level of service and support for the products. Andrew Sedgwick, director of sales said: 'The ever increasing popularity and demand for cosmetic lenses make these an exciting addition to our existing range of added-value products. They will also further continue our philosophy of offering high quality, differentiated products to practitioners, making CooperVision lenses a valuable addition to their prescribing schedule.' CooperVision will officially take over distribution on March 16, with its customer service department taking orders from March 19.
