Sponsored by Ciba Vision, the guide offers contact lens practitioners identification and treatment guidelines for corneal conditions. A CD-Rom version will also be produced. The guide grew out of research carried out at CCLRU and LVPEI over the past 10 years, and from information gathered by key contact lens researchers around the world. It covers conditions from microbial keratitis to contact-lens-induced peripheral ulcers. Each condition is described and illustrated, and information given for its severity rating, incidence, symptoms, signs, risk factors and management. Ciba's global manager of professional services Greg White said: 'The guide will be a source of ready information for practitioners and researchers. It will contribute significantly to successful contact lens practice worldwide, especially with the management of patients wearing new options such as extended-wear soft lenses.' - For a copy of the guide contact Scott Robirds by email: scott.robirds@ cibavision.novartis.com.
