Practitioners have been encouraged to gather their remaining CET points by the General Optical Council - with nearly half yet to do so.
The GOC told Optician that 56 per cent of registrants had met the requirement for the current cycle, with a new scheme starting next year.
Linda Ford, GOC head of education and standards, said: 'I would encourage all registrants to make sure they reach their target as soon as possible, and not put their career in jeopardy by waiting until December.'
