Dame Judi Dench has backed a longstanding Christmas fundraising campaign by vision charity the Royal National Institute of Blind People.
The actress penned a letter saying she had age-related macular degeneration, but while her sight had been affected, she counted herself ‘as one of the lucky ones’.
People were asked to collect their used stamps over the Christmas period to be sold to stamp dealers as part of an RNIB campaign that has raised £100,000 since being set up 20 years ago.
Senders were asked to leave at least half a centimetre of envelope around each stamp and post them to RNIB, PO Box 6198, Leighton Buzzard, LU7 9XT.
