Organisers of National Eye Health Week have urged practitioners to get involved in this year’s campaign running from September 22-28.

Each day of the campaign will hone in on different aspects of eye health.

David Cartwright, chair of NEHW, said: ‘National Eye Health Week is a unique event that provides an invaluable opportunity for the whole ocular sector to come together to encourage more people to visit their optometrist for a routine sight test.

‘By working in partnership to highlight the benefits of having regular eye checks and illustrating how lifestyle factors can contribute to eye disease we can improve the UK’s eye health, contribute towards a reduction in avoidable blindness and enhance people’s everyday lives.’
