? A General Optical Council fitness to practise panel is to hear an allegation submitted by the Council that the fitness of Gurpreet Kaur Chaggar is impaired at a hearing in London on September 30 2009.
The inquiry will be based on an allegation that on March 26 2008, Chaggar received a caution for the theft of £20 belonging to a Specsavers branch in the Pavilions shopping centre, Uxbridge. The alleged offence took place on November 3 2007. The panel will consider if Chaggar's fitness to undertake training as an optometrist is impaired by reason of the caution.
? The fitness to practise of a dispensing optician who is alleged to have stolen approximately £5,000 worth of spectacles from the practice where he worked is to be assessed by a GOC committee.
