President of the College of Optometrists, David Parkins, has taken over as chair of the Clinical Council for Eye Health Commissioning (CCEHC).
The CCEHC, brings together professional and patient bodies and considers itself the national clinical voice for eye health in England. Parkins was elected following a vote by the membership of Clinical Council. 'The Clinical Council is now fully established under the excellent chairmanship of Professor Harminder Dua,' said Parkins. 'I am proud to be taking over from him and chairing a body with such a vast collective expertise of commissioning eye health and sight loss services, including social care and ophthalmic public health.'
