Dispensing optician Dave Stevens recently represented Great Britain in the triathlon world championships in Lausanne Switzerland.
The 45-year-old competed in the Olympic distance triathlon in the category for athletes aged between 45 and 49.
Despite sustaining an injury just a week before the event, which disrupted his training, Stevens came 40th out of a field of 95. He had hoped for a better placing and said he aimed to improve on this next year.
The Great Britain Age Group Team consists of the best 18 men and women in each five-year age band from 21 to 75. This year was the fifth time in 10 years Stevens has qualified to represent Great Britain.
