Dispensing optician to face trial over covert cameras

Martin Clough is accused of secretly recording women

A dispensing optician accused of secretly recording women for the purpose of sexual gratification will face trial next month at Bolton Crown Court.

Martin Clough, of Clough’s Opticians in Bolton, appeared at Bolton Magistrates’ Court accused of five offences between December 2013, and November 2014.

He entered a not guilty plea for all charges and the case was scheduled for September 5.

As part of the conditional bail imposed on him, Clough must not contact an alleged victim or attend the practice in Newport Street, Bolton. A General Optical Council fitness to practise committee has suspended him for a period of 18 months.
