Dispensing Optician suspension continued A General Optical Council fitness to practise review hearing has ruled that the interim suspension placed on Essex dispensing optician Brian Davies should remain in place.

Davies was suspended in July 2013 for 18 months after a committee heard that he was the subject of police investigation into allegations of wounding, inflicting grievous bodily harm and other undisclosed offences.

At last week’s review hearing, the third to be held, the committee heard that Davies had been tried and sentenced for a total of eight years and six months for the offences.
