Christopher Parrish was erased after a series of fraudulent dispenses

Dispensing optician Christopher Parrish has been erased from General Optical Council registers after a fitness to practise committee ruled he was guilty of misconduct following a series of fraudulent dispenses and forging a signature.

The Stafford-based dispensing optician exposed the Specsavers practice where he worked to serious financial loss over a prolonged period of time by providing free spectacles to his family and friends.

Parrish admitted amending existing patient records by the changing prescription details to those of his associates to generate orders on the company’s internal practice management system.

Parrish also forged a colleague’s signature on a DVLA assessment form and falsely claimed business expenses, while knowing they were personal expenses.
