Amiee Langdon was admitted to the Royal Manchester Children' Hospital after wiping her eye following a fall into the dog mess while running towards a fenced off playing area.

Her mother wiped it clean and took her home to bathe her eye, according to the BBC, but the child woke up in the early hours of the morning screaming with her eye purple and swollen shut. Hospital tests confirmed toxocariasis and the child, who has been discharged from hospital, is being treated with three antibiotics and an eye ointment.
