Refractive error and low vision are the themes of this year’s World Sight Day on October 12, organised by Vision 2020.
To help raise awareness of the millions of people around the world who are needlessly blind or visually impaired, OGS is encouraging practitioners to take part in its campaign by asking customers and optical company staff across the UK to make a £1 donation.
With the support of courier company DX, OGS is distributing 5,000 fundraising packs to all practices in the week prior to World Sight Day. All money raised is going to the ‘Giving Sight to Blind Children’ project, which was set up following a recent visit by Sightsavers International and the International Centre for Eyecare Education (ICEE) to a blind school in Malawi.
