Practitioners are being urged to support World Sight Day (WSD) on October 14 in order to help transform the lives of the 670 million people around the world who are blind or visually impaired.

For the second year running the charities Optometry Giving Sight (OGS) and Vision Aid Overseas are collaborating to launch the WSD Challenge.

They are inviting practitioners to participate through a variety of fundraising activities, from donating £1.00 from every spectacle or contact lens sale during October, to donating the fees from eye exams given on WSD and/or holding a practice celebration and inviting patients and staff to donate throughout the month. All optical professionals are invited to get involved and raise funds.
