Optometrists and sports scientists working for the England and Wales Cricket Board have been trying to stop glare impeding England's cricket players' vision while fielding.

Tests conducted by OOs including Dr Nick Dash,and with help from Adidas, found that with the right eyewear, the ability to see a ball in the air could be improved by up to 28 per cent, the Telegraph reported.

The tests also revealed how grey lenses favoured by players are too dark for most conditions and players were instead recommended lenses choices including red, gold, silver and orange.
