ECPs take on Tour de Yorkshire

Twenty one cyclists have completed stage one of this year’s Tour de Yorkshire in a fundraiser sponsored by CET provider Eyecare

Raising funds for Optometry Giving Sight’s World Sight Day challenge, their 107 mile challenge began at 7am in the Yorkshire sunshine.

Collectively they cycled a total of 2,702 miles to raise £6,000 for the campaign. Essilor also agreed to match the first £10,000 raised and sent two ‘Think About Your Eyes’ Protectors to the finishing line.

David Shannon, UK development manager for Optometry Giving Sight, said: ‘I would like to congratulate and thank the riders who gave up their Bank Holiday Sunday, their families, generous sponsors and in particular Eyecare without whom this fantastic event could not have happened.’
