Optimax this week launched a TV ad about the success of its ICL treatment on famously bespectacled British Olympic ski jumper Eddie ‘The Eagle’ Edwards.
The Optimax ‘Eddie the Eagle’ ad will air on satellite and digital channels throughout April. It includes footage presented by the skier known for his trademark pink-rimmed spectacles.
During the 30-second ad he explains how Optimax lens implants changed his life in 2003 and how dangerously poor his vision was during the 1988 Winter Olympics.
‘Sometimes I could barely see anything at all with these glasses,’ said Edwards. ‘Having the surgery has impacted my whole life, it’s been fantastic. If I could have had the operation done 30 years ago, before the Calgary Olympics, it would have been wonderful.'
