Essilor agrees to match Optoms Cycling for Sight total of £12,000

Essilor is to add £12,000 to the amount of money raised by the Optoms Cycling for Sight initiative in support of Optometry Giving Sight and World Sight Day

Essilor is to add £12,000 to the amount of money raised by  the Optoms Cycling for Sight initiative in support of Optometry Giving Sight and World Sight Day.

Announcing Essilor as a Gold sponsor for OGS, Donna Power, Optometry Giving Sight Regional Manager, Europe, thanked Essilor for its generous support. She said the £12,000 raised had been from a range of cycling events the main one being a retracing of the opening stage of the Tour de France in Yorkshire. This attracted support from around 40 cyclists who raised money plus sponsorship  from Optrafair, Optician, Topcon, Ocuco, S.I. Opticals, Zeiss, Hunter and MCL create.

Mike Kirkley, Essilor  Managing Director, said Essilor was pleased to support OC4S and OGS. 'We believe in Optometry Giving Sight’s mission which is why we are pleased to contribute by matching the Optoms Cycling for Sight total and build on our strong relationship. We are proud to support the cycle initiative in which so many groups and individuals have undertaken truly impressive challenges and have made a difference to Optometry Giving Sight.
