Essilor has reported strong revenue and earnings growth for 2012, with operating profit up 21.8 per cent to €832m and revenue up 19.1 per cent to €4,989m.

The company cited strong demand for the New Crizal UV and Varilux S series lenses as well as a 'ramp-up' in the mid-range segment and in fast growing countries.

Chairman and CEO Hubert Sagnières said: 'In light of these robust 2012 results, Essilor is looking to the future with confidence and enthusiasm, inspired by the importance of its corporate mission to improve vision worldwide, for all and wherever they are.
