BCLA proposes new fellowship honour

The council of the British Contact Lens Association is proposing a new fellowship honour which will be put to an extraordinary general meeting this month.

Similar to the American Academy of Optometry's FAAO, the fellowship will be by an examination scheme, and holders would be entitled to use the affix 'FBCLA'.

Under the scheme, members of all disciplines - whether in practice, research or manufacturing - would be eligible to apply for the FBCLA if they gained the necessary points, explained president Anna Sulley. The EGM will be held in London on January 27.
