The FMO has addressed the increasing concern about bad debts within optics with the introduction of a new service.

Members can now take advantage of unlimited credit reference checking for a preferential price, rather than the normal price of £950 per year, by having access to online records of international credit checking company Creditsafe.

'This fantastic preferential introductory rate makes bad debt prevention available to all businesses - whatever their size - throughout England and Wales,' said Andrew Actman, FMO chairman.

'The Creditsafe reports are designed to provide a company overview, with additional information available, including the previous three years' accounts, director information, county court judgements, credit ratings and limits. The new service will help companies to set customer credit limits to the appropriate level for each account.'
