
Rayner Surgical Group has partially acquired Russian company Reper with a multi-million pound funding package from NatWest.
The surgical group, which is the UK’s only manufacturer of intraocular lenses (IOL), has used the funding to take a 50% stake in Reper in order to improve supply chain efficiencies and quality control measures while also reducing costs for both companies.
Rayner Surgical Group’s chief financial officer Darren Millington said: ‘We have worked with Reper for more than four years to secure the materials for our lenses. With the acquisition we now have more control over the production of these supplies, which will allow us to invest in the UK company whilst expanding our expertise over to Russia.’
