Ophthalmic manufacturer Rayner acquires Moorfields Pharmaceuticals

Ophthalmic manufacturer Rayner has acquired Moorfields Pharmaceuticals from Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust for an undisclosed price.

A company statement said the move would help Rayner launch a specialist ophthalmic pharmaceuticals division planned to be expanded across Europe.

Members of the Moorfields Pharmaceuticals team will transfer to Rayner, but continue to be based in London.

Rayner CEO Tim Clover said: ‘The acquisition of Moorfields Pharmaceuticals will enable us to offer an even wider range of ophthalmic tools that aid and streamline the surgical process whilst remaining focused on the visual outcome for the patient. We are delighted to welcome Moorfields Pharmaceuticals to the Rayner team.’
