FODO's annual general meeting held as part of the Optical Confederation conference heard that the organisation had achieved much in the last years. The chairman's badge of office, held by Jayne Rawlinson for the last five year was handed to Glen Tomison.
Rawlinson's reflections on her five year tenure were relayed by incoming chairmanTomison as Rawlinson was unable to attend.
Over the past year much had been achieved in difficult circumstances. ' Once again it has been a year of an incredible amount of work, often in the face of misunderstanding, ignorance and sometimes just plain obtuseness by NHS officials and occasionally even people on our own side. Friendly fire is not an unknown concept in optics'.
