GOC director steps down

Regulator the General Optical Council has announced that its director of resources Josie Lloyd will step down to embark on a career path in housing

Regulator the General Optical Council has announced that its director of resources Josie Lloyd will step down to embark on a career path in housing.

The GOC will shortly appoint an interim director of resources, before hiring a permanent successor. Meanwhile it said that Lloyd will remain at the GOC until August 1 when she will become resource director at Colne housing association.

GOC chief executive Samantha Peters paid tribute to the achievements of Lloyd during her three and a half years in the role.

‘In particular, I must thank Josie for her instrumental work in securing our move from Harley Street to our new Farringdon offices,’ said Peters. ‘The move had been in the pipeline for many years, and without Josie’s commitment and tireless endeavour we would not have been able to so successfully complete this move. As an organisation we are already very much reaping the benefits of the new offices.’
