GOC suspends Hove student optometrist

Amanwil Takla, a student optometrist based in Hove, has been suspended from the GOC’s register for five months.  

A GOC Fitness to Practise Committee found Takla’s fitness to undertake training impaired by reason of misconduct.  

The allegation was in relation to creating and submitting a false tenancy agreement to his university for the purpose of dishonestly claiming accommodation costs of £11,400. 

Takla has until July 14, 2023, to appeal against his suspension.
