A GOC fitness to practise committee has suspended Nathan Benjahman Hill for 18 months after considering an application for an Interim Order.
Allegations against Hill by his university authorities concerned a 'situation which clearly requires action to protect the public', said the GOC committee.
The alleged incident occurred at the university library. His alleged response when challenged was described as 'uncooperative and unprofessional'.
The committee concluded: 'We have in mind the fact that practitioners operate within close and intimate situations. We are also concerned to uphold professional standards and public confidence in the profession.'
The committee will review the 18 month suspension order within six months of the charge.
