The August newsletter of the LOCSU said the National Health Service Connecting for Health Information Governance Toolkit for Eye Care Services had not been agreed or the cost of compliance negotiated. Practices should tell their primary care trusts that this toolkit has not been agreed with the optical bodies and cannot be used, it read.

Bob Hughes, speaking on behalf of the optical bodies, commented on the 'staggering bad faith' by NHS Connecting for Health for bouncing a completely inappropriate toolkit onto the profession.
